Seniors bounce back quickly

On a blustery afternoon in Treaddur Bay the seniors found a way to win 2-0 and break down a well organised home side with deserved second half goals from Gwen Roberts and Lexi Crawley .

Commenting on the hard fought win manager Jonny Batten had this to say :

"First of all we'd would like to thank Treaddur Bay on hosting todays game and to our girls for making the trip down the A55. It was a really frustrating game for us today. We know we have goals in us and yes the weather wasn’t ideal but we came across a stubborn, well drilled home team who defended in numbers and managed to hold us for long periods. The team realised that the windy conditions and decisions in the game were not going to allow us to play the free flowing football the team likes to play but we adapted and overcame. That was pleasing in itself. Our defense was solid all afternoon in the main and another clean sheet for Becca says it all. The home team had limited half chances to be fair which we dealt with.

Today the team had to dig deep, showed real grit and determination and a desire to win. They pulled out the win when we needed it without being at our best through hard work and effort and never gave up. I was impressed with some of our link up play down the flanks between Lisa and Molly on right and Ffion Bee and Gwen always looked a threat down the left and we did create chances that way but for offiside decisions to go against us time and time again. Having said that we didn't let it get to us, kept our heads and tried to be patient and composed in our play. We just kept going and going and finally found a way to break them down so I think we we got what we deserved to be fair.

It was great to play two new players in Catrin and Chelsea get game time and both looked comfortable on the ball and look like great additions to the squad. But for me the real positive of today was to welcome back Lexi and it was definitely an emotional moment to see her score and the team celebrate with her.

The team know it wasn’t our best performance but we wanted 3 points and that’s what they got. That was the target we set ourselves before the game and the team delivered. So back to training now and lots to work on and think about before we welcome an ever improving Llangefni side to Plas Ffrancon on the 7th November. As you know there aren't any easy games in this league ! "
