Sunday sees the senior team return to playing and make the short trip across the bridge to take on Trearddur Bay Ladies FC in our fifth league game of the season. After an unplanned free weekend due to fixture rearrangements owing to Caernarfon withdrawing from the league, the team will be keener that ever to get back to winning ways following a disappointing performance away to Rhyl 1879 and put it behind them.
With near enough a full squad available to choose from manager Jonny Batten said :
"We're all really looking forward to the match on Sunday for sure and get back to playing. The squad is looking to respond positively and bounce back quickly after the Rhyl loss which hurt. We've stepped up the intensity in training and used last weekend's playing slot to work on a few things, focussed on some key things from previous games and worked on them.
I think the squad is looking sharp and hungry which is great to see with competition for places in that starting 11 ! In the last game we were down to bare bones with some of the 19s stepping up to the match day squad but we won't use that as an execuse as we were beaten by the better team on the day.
So for Sunday we're pleased to welcome back some big players who have been unavailable for a variety of reasons. I’m sure they'll have a positive impact on the team and can influence the game for us. It might also be an opportunity for us to play some new signings possibly who I'm sure will also want to make their own impact if they're involved. The squad have rallied well and we're looking for a reaction from the team across the pitch. Trearddur Bay won't make it easy on us for sure so we'll have to work hard for it start to finish. I'm expecting a strong attacking and defensive performance from us which I’m sure we'll get and hopefully come away with all 3 points. That's the target we've set ourselves. "
