On Saturday 5 August (2.30pm), we’re back in action at Nantporth against Gresford Athletic. Please note that as this game is in the Nathaniel MG Cup, season tickets will not be valid and all spectators will need to pay at the gate (£6 adults, £3 senior citizens and children). It will be cash only on the turnstiles, but if you would like to pay by card then please go to the clubhouse entrance on the car park side. We would like to remind spectators that all areas of our ground - inside and outside - are non-smoking.
Although we will be welcoming Gresford to Bangor for the first time, they are a side we have played previously. We traveled to the Wrexham area to face them in a pre-season friendly on 30 July 2019 before our first ever season. On that occasion, we won 2-1 thanks to a double from Dylan Summers-Jones.
Last weekend, Gresford began their league campaign with a 1-0 defeat away to Prestatyn. Last season they finished 10th in the JD Cymru North. They also reached the quarter finals of the 2022-23 Nathaniel MG Cup where they were eliminated by Cymru Premier side Bala Town. Along the way, they knocked out Denbigh Town, Airbus, and Buckley Town.
Within the last week, Gresford have three additions to their squad. They signed forward Toby Gallagher-Keenan from Connah’s Quay Nomads after having him on loan from the Deeside team during the second half of the 2022-23 season. Attacking midfielder Haci Ozlu has also joined Gresford from Mold Alexandra and defender Tom Killilea has arrived from Ellesmere Port Town.
After this Saturday’s game, we have two league matches within a week. We travel to face Llandudno at Y Morfa in Conwy on Tuesday 8 August (7.30pm) before hosting Denbigh Town at Nantporth on Saturday 12 August (2.30pm). For full information about our August matches, including a supporters’ bus being organised for our league trip to Mold on Saturday 19 August, please click here.
We’ve received great support so far this season, and it would be fantastic to see another large crowd at Nantporth on Saturday.
