Match Preview

Our next match is on Friday 22 October (7.30pm) and will see us welcome Glantraeth to Treborth for a league match.

Although we travelled to face Glantraeth in our first match of 2020 in the Gwynedd League, our upcoming match will be the first occasion on which we will have welcomed the Anglesey side to our home venue.

When we faced Glantraeth in January 2020, we ran out 4-0 winners of a game where our captain Michael Johnston created a surprise by becoming our first goalscorer of the new decade. Indeed, many fans struggled to take in the fact that his early effort was his third in as many months. The other goalscorers were Dylan Summers-Jones, Jamie Petrie and Ben Owen.

Glantraeth currently occupy thirteenth place in our league, having recorded one win, one draw and eight defeats from their ten games so far this season. Their victory came against fellow Anglesey side Amlwch in August. Last month they were involved in a 3-3 draw away to Gaerwen in a match where a second half hat-trick from Scott Hughes secured a point despite his team having trailed 3-0 at the break. Friday’s game will be the second trip to Treborth in a week for Glantraeth as they faced Menai Bridge TIgers last weekend in a match that they lost 1-0.

At our match against Glantraeth, we are delighted to be able to welcome Rhys Roberts from Watkin Property Ventures (WPV) as well as his wife Alison. They will be presenting a cheque to us as part of an extremely generous three year sponsorship commitment that they announced in 2019. We are delighted to have received this fantastic support right from the start of our existence, and it has made a massive difference to us as we have progressed from the Gwynedd League and sought to deal with the challenges faced by Covid.

We are very much looking forward to what we hope will be an exciting match under the lights at Treborth, so please come along to support the team. Hot and cold drinks will be available from the clubhouse, including bottled and canned drinks as well as a range of soft drinks.

Our game against Glantraeth will be followed by two further home fixtures, against Nefyn on Saturday 30 October (2.30pm) and Amlwch on Saturday 6 November (2pm).
