Match Report by Ben Leggatt
The hosts started at breath-taking speed, and Bangor 1876 were ahead after just two minutes when a goal kick by Bethesda Athletic keeper David Clarke was intercepted by Dylan Summers-Jones, who proceeded to round Clarke and pass the ball into the back of the empty net.
The score was doubled just three minutes later, as a Cameron Barry corner kick was played into Jamie Petrie, whose powerful shot from a tight angle beat the goalkeeper at his near post.
In the eighth minute, Cian Williams added a third with a tidy volley from a low, hard-hit cross from Dion Jones, before the keeper parried a Jamie Petrie shot into the path of Les Davies, who duly dispatched the chance to fire in Bangor’s fourth just two minutes later.
Les Davies could have got himself a second goal on the quarter hour mark, but his shot was fired just wide of the mark. However, Bangor 1876 didn’t have to wait long for a fifth, as Shaun Lock’s good run forward led to the ball running fortunately into the path of Jamie Petrie in the box, and his fine finish left the keeper with no chance as the score became 5-0 in the 23rd minute.
Bangor 1876 had a sixth goal just four minutes later, when Petrie’s pullback found Dion Jones, whose shot from the edge of the area was deflected beyond the unfortunate Clarke in the Bethesda goal. However, if Clarke was hoping his nightmare start to the match was over, he was mistaken, as Jamie Petrie beat the offside trap to secure his hat-trick.
Petrie then turned provider for Les Davies three minutes later, as his shot from the edge of the area flew through Clarke’s legs and into the back of the net. With the game at 8-0 and half time approaching, Dafydd Thomas’ cross from the right flank found Dion Jones, whose powerful header ended up in the bottom corner.

The second half saw Bethesda change formation, opting for five at the back, but they were undone almost immediately as Les Davies’ exquisite through ball to Jamie Petrie unlocked the Bethesda back line, and Petrie duly fired past the goalkeeper to make it 10-0 in the 49th minute.
In the 53rd minute, left back Shaun Lock had a shot from the left wing heroically cleared off the line by a Bethesda defender, as the visitors desperately tried to keep the score at 10 for the remainder of the match. However, it wasn’t to be for Bethesda, as Bangor 1876 scored an eleventh goal in the 67th minute, when Jamie Thomas’ cross picked out Petrie at the back post, and he duly fired past the keeper to make it 11-0.
Dylan Summers-Jones made it a round dozen six minutes later, after beating the offside trap and cutting in from the right flank to bury the chance. As the game entered its final ten minutes, Cameron Barry picked up the ball, and with quick feet managed to manoeuvre into the box, before firing his shot into the top corner to make it 13-0.
The home fans were still celebrating that goal when Dylan Summers-Jones beat the offside trap before firing in his third of the match to make it 14-0 in the 85th minute.
