Match Report by Ben Leggatt
Bangor 1876 enjoyed a prolific night under the floodlights at Treborth, as they put twelve goals without reply past bottom of the table CPD Llanerchymedd.
The home side got off to a quick start, and went close when Jamie Petrie struck the post, before Jos Lloyd hit a long range shot that was well saved by opposition goalkeeper Luke Bansall.
The deadlock was eventually broken in the fifteenth minute when Les Davies received the ball with his back to goal, before turning his marker and sending a curling effort into the top corner for the lead.
Not to be outdone by his teammate’s spectacular strike, leading goalscorer Jamie Petrie scored in similar fashion just two minutes later, when his curling effort flew in off the post to double Bangor 1876’s advantage.
Dylan Summers-Jones almost added a third just five minutes later but his shot flew just wide of the far post, before Cameron Barry’s shot was tipped over the bar acrobatically by Llanerchymedd goalkeeper Bansall. Centre back Cian Williams also went close with an effort from the edge of the box following a short corner routine between Jos Lloyd and Cameron Barry.
Dylan Summers-Jones added a third goal in the 39th minute when he met a low cross from Jamie Petrie to beat the keeper. A fourth goal followed two minutes before the break as midfielder Dafydd Thomas beat the offside trap before firing past Bansall to score his first goal for the club.
