On Friday 8 March at 7.45pm we are away to Prestatyn Town in the JD Cymru North. Prestatyn Town’s ground is to be found on Bastion Gardens in Prestatyn and the post code is LL19 7LU.
At the time of writing, Prestatyn are in 13th position in the league, three points ahead of 14th placed Porthmadog. They were highly active in the January transfer window, bringing in players such as Macauley Taylor from Rhyl, Tom Weir from Denbigh and Luke Wiltshire from Holywell.
Results during February were somewhat mixed for Prestatyn, They began the month with a 1-1 draw at home to Guilsfield before losing 6-0 away to AIrbus. However, they responded well by winning away to Chirk and then beating the same opponents again the following week. They rounded off the month with a 4-3 defeat away to Denbigh.
Back in late August, we faced Prestatyn in the league at Nantporth. On that occasion, some swift counter attacking and clinical finishing helped to secure a 4-1 win for the team from Denbighshire.
Although this Friday’s encounter will be the first time we have played away to Prestatyn Town, it will not be the first time we have played at their home ground. Few 1876 fans will forget our previous visit, when we beat Cefn Albion in last season’s play-off final in order to secure our place in tier 2 for this season.
After our trip to Prestatyn, our following game will be at home to Mold Alexandra at 7.30pm on Friday 15 March.
