On Friday 2 February, we embark on our third league away trip in a row when we travel to face Gresford Athletic. The game takes place at The Rock in Cefn Mawr and kicks off at 7.45pm. The address of the ground is as follows: The Rock, Rock Road, Rhosymedre, Cefn Mawr, LL14 3YG.
While we were winning 1-0 away to Chirk AAA last weekend thanks to another goal from Corrig McGonigle, Gresford were playing away to Holywell Town. Although they lost 4-1 and had Adam Heap sent off after 25 minutes, Gresford took the lead thanks to a goal from Toby Gallagher-Keenan. The 20-year-old striker's effort was cancelled out just before half-time by an equaliser from Mike Pearson. Second half goals by Jamie Breese, Jake Cooke and Sam Jones secured the win for the Wellmen.
Gresford have proved tough opposition a far this season and have twice won at Nantporth. In late September, they won a league match 3-1 thanks to goals from Haci Ozlu, Toby Gallagher-Keenan and Sam Spridgeon. Corrig McGonigle found the net for Bangor.
In early August, Gresford won 3-0 at Nantporth in the Nathaniel MG Cup. Haci Ozlu and Sam Spridgeon also scored on that occasion, after Charley Edge had opened the scoring.
It's clear that a tough encounter awaits on Friday, so please make the trip to the Wrexham area to cheer on our team if you can.
We'll be back in action closer to home on Saturday 10 February when we welcome Caersws to Nantporth for a home league game that kicks off at 2pm.
