Airbus claim the points at Nantporth

After an even start to the game, the first chance fell to Jordan Evans in the eleventh minute but his shot was blocked and went out for a corner.

Just after the quarter hour mark, it was Bangor's turn to threaten. After breaking forward quickly, Joe Sullivan threaded a neat pass through to Corrig McGonigle. McGonigle tried to chip the ball over Mitchell Jones from 20 yards but didn't find enough elevation and the visiting keeper saved comfortably.

In the minutes that followed, Bangor forced several further chances. First of all, Sam Jones did well to get on the end of a cross from Liam Morris but Mitchell Jones caught his shot. Within a minute, Corrig McGonigle laid the ball off to Sam Jones who saw his shot from the edge of the area deflected narrowly wide.

Airbus also threatened on several occasions, and Jordan Evans curled a shot narrowly wide after 25 minutes.

With just over ten minutes to go before halftime it was Bangor who took the lead. Sam Jones swung in a cross from the left and a glancing header from Craig Whelan found the net.

Airbus sought to respond rapidly to falling behind and came close to an equaliser when Kaiden Cooke found space inside the box but his effort was blocked by a decisive intervention from Iolo Hughes. Jordan Evans then went close again with another shot from just outside the box.

Sam Jones continued his lively spell by shooting narrowly wide from the right side of the area with five minutes to go until the break.

HALF-TIME: BANGOR 1876 1-0 AIRBUS

Inside the opening thirty seconds of the second half, Airbus threatened when left back Kieran Evans showed his pace to break forward, but his ball across the face of goal didn't find any takers.

However, the visitors did manage to level the score in the 48th minute. After Joe Sullivan was adjudged to have fouled Kaiden Cooke inside the penalty area, George Peers netted from the spot.

Five minutes later, Airbus came close to taking the lead. Jordan Evans got on the end of a cross from the right but side-footed his effort just over the crossbar.

During a spell when there were chances at both ends, Liam Morris fired in a powerful low shot from a tight angle that was well saved by Mitchell Jones.

In the 63rd minute, Airbus took the lead when George Peers added his second goal of the afternoon. The midfielder showed some neat footwork on the edge of the area before finding the net with a low shot.

Bangor sought a quick response to going behind and a had a chance when Corrig McGonigle swung in a free-kick from the right but Iolo Hughes headed the ball over the bar.

As the game entered the final twenty minutes, Bangor continued to press and broke into the opposition penalty area on several occasions but were kept out by some dogged defending from the visitors. Despite their valiant efforts as the clock ticked down, including a powerful shot from Corrig McGonigle in the final minute that went just wide, Bangor couldn't quite find an equaliser and went down to a narrow defeat.
