Gresford take the points at Nantporth

After an even opening ten minutes which saw both sides cancel each other out, the first chance of the game fell to Gresford after 11 minutes. Dominic Deacon beat the offside trap and broke into the right side of the box but skewed his shot across goal and wide of the target.

Five minutes later, Gresford had another effort when Paul Johnson strode forward and shot narrowly wide from 25 yards.

At the other end, Bangor came close to opening the scoring midway through the first half. Dan Cox broke into the right side of the box and his low shot across goal was deflected narrowly wide.

However, it was the visitors who took the lead after 27 minutes. Haci Ozlu got on the end of a long pass forward and beat Huw Shaw with a calm finish.

With ten minutes of the half left, Dominic Deacon came close to doubling Gresford's advantage. He was initially denied by a save from Huw Shaw before side-footing the ball wide with the goal at his mercy.

Moments later, Shaw again had to show good reactions to keep out another shot from Haci Ozlu. With half-time approaching, Bangor sought a way back into the game and Liam Morris came close with a shot from a tight angle that was well saved by

In the final minute of the half, Gresford's Paul Johnson had a good chance when he got on the end of a free-kick at the back post. However, he could only head into the side netting.

HALF-TIME: BANGOR 1876 0-1 GRESFORD ATHLETIC

Three minutes into the second period, Gresford doubled their advantage. After an attack down the right the ball was played across the face of goal and turned home form close range by Toby Gallagher-Keenan.

Within a minute, however, Bangor got back into the game when Corrig McGonigle got pm the end of a neat pass from Mason Blackwell-Jones and stabbed the ball past Michael Jones.

Bangor then enjoyed a spell of pressure as they went in search of an equaliser but it was Gresford who had the next big opportunity. Haci Ozlu found space on the left side of the penalty area and sent in a shot that Huw Shaw did well to save with his legs.

With twenty minutes left, Shaw again saved well with his feet. On this occasion, he blocked a range shot from Nathan Williams after a ball was played into the box from the right.

Within a few minutes, Bangor came agonisingly close to an equaliser. Dan Cox's shot seemed to be heading goalwards but took a deflection off Corey Jones and squirmed wide for a goal kick to the visitors.

Gresford continued to threaten on the break and Shaw had to pull off another sharp save from substitute Joseph Chaplin following a counter attack.

Inside the last five minutes Bangor had a chance when level the score when Liam Morris turned sharply on the edge of the box, but his powerful shot was repelled by Jones.

Following a corner kick to Bangor, Gresford then broke up the park with the clock ticking down. Samuel Spridgeon showed some pace to elude his marker and slot the ball past Huw Shaw.

Bangor continued to battle away during injury time but there were no further goals as the visitors from the Wrexham area held on for a 3-1 victory.
