On Saturday 6 May at 2.30pm, we host our final league game of the season when we welcome Hawarden Rangers to Treborth. It provides us with an opportunity not just to encourage the players as they seek to do everything possible to ensure as positive an end to the season as possible, but also to recognise their efforts over the course of the season.

Our opponents Hawarden Rangers are a team that we have faced twice so far this term. Back in early November, we overcame this weekend’s visitors in a league cup tie at Treborth. The match had been goalless at half-time but Tom Clarke gave us the lead ten minutes after the break. Rangers then equalised thanks to a goal from substitute Thomas Gunson. Joe Culshaw then restored our lead on his comeback from injury before late goals from Ben Owen and Tom Clarke extended the advantage in the closing minutes.

We made our first ever away trip to Hawarden in mid-March this year when we secured a 2-0 win at the Gladstone Playing Fields. Tom Clarke opened the scoring eight minutes before half-time and Gethin Thomas added a second six minutes after the interval.

Hawarden began April with narrow defeats away to Llanrwst and Denbigh before draws away to Y Felinheli and at home to Saltney. They finished off the month with an impressive 2-1 win at home to Llay Welfare not long after Llay had beaten Denbigh. Hawarden came from behind to win in a match where their goalscorers were Lewis Cunliffe and Thomas Gunson. At the time of writing, Hawarden are thirteenth in the league, three points ahead of Rhostyllen, a point behind Y Felinheli and two points behind Llandudno Albion.

We have recently re-stocked the cafe at Treborth and from 1pm onwards it will be possible to purchase a range of beers, soft drinks, hot drinks, and other light refreshments. Once again we will be selling club merchandise in the clubhouse. We will also be having another collection for the Bangor Cathedral Food Bank so would encourage anyone who can to support this cause. We would like to take this opportunity to thank all fans - both our own fans and those of visiting teams - who have kindly donated to our food bank collections this season.

Let’s hope for a big crowd and an exciting encounter on Saturday as we conclude our first ever season in tier three!
