Match Preview

On Tuesday 3 January at 7.45pm, we welcome Llanrwst to Treborth for our first match of 2023.

We played the Roosters at Parc Gwydir back in August in a highly entertaining encounter. The hosts took the lead midway through the first half thanks to Samuel Jones and were 1-0 ahead at the break. However, three second half goals clinched a victory for 1876. Corrig McGonigle scored an equaliser not long after the re-start before Les Davies added two further goals.

Due to a series of postponements, Llanrwst only played one match during December and it took place on the final day of 2022. In a hard-fought contest at Belle Vue, they lost 1-0 against Rhyl following a decisive goal in the closing minutes.

At our recent home game against Rhostyllen, we had a fantastic response to our food bank collection. We would like to thank everyone who kindly brought donations, including our visitors Rhostyllen who brought an extremely generous contribution.

We will be doing another food bank collection at our match against Llanrwst. Items that the Bangor Cathedral Food bank are keen to receive include the following: tinned meat meals, tinned potatoes and vegetables, tinned fruit (especially peaches), tinned meat and tuna, toiletries, long life milk and orange juice, and instant coffee (although not decaf). They are also keen to receive donations of rice, biscuits, sugar, tinned pasta, pasta sauce, tinned tomatoes, tinned custard, rice pudding, jam, nappies, loo roll, and milk powder. We will have a collection point for donations in the clubhouse.

Following our game against Llanrwst, our next match will be in the league away to Y Felinheli on Saturday 7 January at 2pm. The following weekend on Saturday 14 January, we will be away to Llay Welfare in another league match. Please note that this match is taking place in Llay, despite having previously been listed on the Cymru Football app as taking place in Flint. We are planning to run a bus to the game that will leave Bangor Railway Station at 10.30am and it will cost £20 per person.
