This Saturday (4 March) we have another league away trip as we head to the Wrexham area to take on Brickfield Rangers at Clywedog Park. The match will kick off at 2.30pm.
Brickfield are one of our player manager Michael Johnston’s former clubs and there are unconfirmed reports that their home ground is one of a very select group of locations in the footballing world where he has scored a goal.
We played Brickfield in a league match at Treborth on 15 October that we won 6-0, a scoreline that perhaps did not fully reflect the visitors’ contribution to a highly entertaining first half during which there were opportunities at both ends.
Brickfield have been involved in several high-scoring encounters since the start of the year and their first three games of 2023 featured a grand total of twenty-two goals. This commenced with a 9-1 loss away to Denbigh and then a 3-3 draw away to Llanrwst in the league.
Brickfield began February with a 5-1 win against Aston Park Rangers in the NEWFA Men’s Senior Challenge Cup before playing four league fixtures. These included a 3-1 defeat at home to Denbigh, a goalless draw away to Llangefni and then a 2-1 win away to Hawarden Ragners and a 3-2 win at home to Y Felinheli. Brickfield finished last month with 6-0 loss away to tier 2 high-flyers Holywell Town in the NEWFA Men’s Senior Challenge Cup.
The address of Brickfield’s ground is: Clywedog Park, Homestead Lane, Wrexham, LL14 4HE. A map of its location can be found on the club website: https://www.pitchero.com/clubs/brickfieldrangersfc/contact.
At the time of writing, there were still some places available on the supporters’ coach to Brickfield. If you would like to book a seat, please contact Dave Roberts as soon as possible on 07517 482182). The cost will be £20 and the bus will leave Bangor Railway Station at 10.30am.
