At 12 midday on 31 December, we play Rhostyllen at Treborth in our last match of 2022, and the end of quite a year for our club. The game will be our first match since our win away to Llangefni on 9 December.
We met Rhostyllen earlier this season when we travelled to the Wrexham area on one of the hottest days of the year. After twice being two goals down to the hosts, we managed to earn a 3-3 draw in a match where Corrig McGonigle scored all three of our goals.
Due to several postponements, Rhostyllen have only played twice this month. On Boxing Day, they lost 4-2 away to Brickfield Rangers in the league and earlier in the month, they went out of the NEWFA Men’s Senior Challenge Cup after losing 5-2 away to Llay Welfare.
It would be great to see a large crowd at Treborth as we round off the year. We won’t have an alcohol licence for the clubhouse at this game, but will still be selling soft drinks and light refreshments.
We will begin the New Year with a league match at home to Llanrwst United that kicks off at 7.45pm on Tuesday 3 January. We will then make the short trip to Y Felinheli for another league fixture on Saturday 7 January that starts at 2pm.
On Saturday 14 January, we travel to face Llay Welfare in a league match that kicks off at 2pm. Please note that this match is taking place in Llay, despite having previously been listed on the Cymru Football app as taking place in Flint. We are planning to run a bus to the game that will leave Bangor Railway Station at 10.30am and it will cost £20 per person. If you are interested in booking a place, please contact Dave Roberts (07517 482182).
