In what turned out to be a highly exciting cup tie,
the visitors made a lively start. Huw Shaw had to be alert to gather the ball at the feet of Ethan Edwards as the Trethomas forward bore down on goal.
In the fifth minute, Bangor had a chance after Liam Morris broke into the left side of the penalty area. He cut the ball back to Corrig McGonigle but his shot from seven yards out was well saved by Trethomas goalkeeper Gareth Williams. Moments later, Morris again broke into the box but fired a powerful shot wide from a tight angle.
Morris was the source of another opportunity shortly before the quarter hour mark when he swung in a corner from the left but Joe Culshaw's powerful header went narrowly wide.
Shortly after the half hour mark another flag kick caused problems in the visitors' box. Goalkeeper Williams failed to gather Sion Edwards' inswinging delivery, but Corey Jones ' header went just wide.
In the ensuing five minutes, Bangor created several more chances. Sion Edwards fired narrowly wide after breaking into the left side of the area before Corrig McGonigle headed over a cross from the same player.
In first half injury time, Bangor finally made their pressure count. Sion Edwards swung in a free kick that was met at the back post by Tom Clarke. The defender's header back across goal dropped in at the far post to open the scoring.

Inside the opening minutes of the second period, Les Davies showed some neat footwork in the middle of the park and played a neat reverse pass to Corrig McGonigle inside the box. However, McGonigle's shot was blocked.
Within a minute, McGonigle was again at the heart of the action. Jamie Petrie played the ball across the edge of the Trethomas box where it was controlled by the prolific attacker. He turned and fired in a curling shot that went just wide. Shortly afterwards Gareth Williams did well to save a powerful long range shot from Les Davies.
Shortly before the hour mark, the visitors came close to equalising after a long run forward from Charlie Loss who saw his shot cleared off the line by Tom Clarke. However, Alfie Jones headed the visitors level shortly afterwards.
With just over ten minutes left, the visitors took the lead. Alfie Jones strode forward and curled in an excellent shot from just outside the box that went in off the post.
Bangor pressed for an equaliser and Liam Morris sent in a low shot on the turn that went just wide. In injury time, Liam Morris swung in a teasing cross but Les Davies' header went wide. Despite their efforts, there were to be no more goals as Trethomas progressed to the quarter final stage of the tournament.
