New three-year deal announced

We are delighted to announce that local firm Watkin Property Ventures (WPV) has kindly agreed to renew its generous sponsorship of Bangor 1876 for a further three years.

The new agreement is worth £20,000 per year for three years and will be a major contribution towards essential running costs as we begin life in tier 3 of Welsh football. In addition, the deal will see WPV become our front-of-shirt sponsors for the next three years.

Part of the money from WPV will be used specifically to support the community ethos of our club in order to continue to provide opportunities for young people from all backgrounds to get involved in football. Furthermore, WPV is also keen to work with us on projects that aim to boost awareness of mental health.

Bangor 1876 club treasurer Les Pegler said “we are delighted that we will continue to benefit from the extremely generous support of a highly successful local company. WPV has supported us right from the start of our first season and it has been great to work in partnership with them as we have grown as a club”.

Mark Watkin Jones, CEO of WPV said “We have been impressed with the way in which Bangor 1876 have grown as a club since their inception and in the way that they have been able to run the club on a firm financial footing despite the impact of the COVID lockdown periods. Our support will to continue to cover the “back of house” operational costs and we have also extended our participation to become the main shirt sponsors. We have also provided for an assistance fund to make sure that disadvantaged children do not miss out on the opportunities, playing football for Bangor, can give them. This will be paid to the club for them to distribute as they see fit with the club giving us feedback to allow us to better understand if this assistance is meeting the need”.

The sponsorship deal is conditional on the club continuing to be run on at least a break-even basis as we seek to focus on financial sustainability as well as success on the pitch and supporting our local community.
