Management team Mel Jones & Dylan Williams make several additions to the Bangor 1876 squad

Ahead of last Monday's transfer deadline, Bangor 1876's management team have made several additions to the matchday squad as the club embark on its maiden Gwynedd Football League campaign.

Dafydd Thomas is a combative midfielder equally capable as defensive cover. The 18-year old began his career with Wrexham AFC before joining hometown club Llandudno FC. Dafydd signed for Bangor 1876 in August 2019.

Bangor-born Harry Jones joined Bangor 1876 in a switch from Arriva FC. The 23-year old midfielder previously appeared for Llangoed & District, Beaumaris Town and most recently Menai Bridge Tigers.

Another local talent, 23-year old midfielder Ben Owen has spent the past few seasons at Welsh Alliance Football League level with CPD Mynydd Llandegai FC.

17-year old Danial Williams is a promising young goalkeeper who joined the club from Holyhead Hotspur. Paul Davies is an experienced goalkeeper with Llanfairfechan Town, Glan Conwy, Llandudno Junction and Llanrwst United amongst his previous clubs.

18-year old Pwllheli-based Louis McFarlane is a naturally right-sided defender who debuted for Bangor 1876 in the recent 5-0 win at Llangoed. McFarlane was previously on the books of Welsh Alliance Football League club Pwllheli.

Also making his first appearance for the club recently, Bangor-born Matthew Lock is equally adept in defensive or midfield roles and lists Glantraeth (two spells), Menai Bridge Tigers and Conwy Borough amongst his previous clubs.

One departure from the club in recent weeks is midfielder Lukas Baltovic. The 25-year old Slovakian has transferred to fellow Gwynedd Football League outfit CPD Nefyn United FC for whom he appeared last term.

With no fixture this weekend, Bangor 1876 return to action next Saturday when CPD Pwllheli FC are the visitors to Treborth for the FAW Trophy Round Two tie.

The club returns to Gwynedd Football League action the following Saturday, 21 September, when we travel to Talysarn Celts' Gloddfa Glo home.

We round off the month with another home tie in cup competition, with CPD Penrhyndeudraeth the visitors for the JD Welsh Cup Second Qualifying Round fixture on Saturday, 28 September. Please note that all September fixtures are 2:30pm Kick Offs.
