Fan-owned teams meet in derby

This Saturday, we face fellow fan-owned team CPD Y Rhyl 1879 in a competitive fixture for the first time. We travel along the coast to take on the Lillywhites at Belle Vue in a league match that kicks off at 2.30pm.

Although our game on Saturday will be the first competitive encounter between ourselves and Rhyl, it will not be the first time our paths have crossed. Prior to the 2021-22 season, we won a friendly 1-0 away to Rhyl thanks to a goal from Jamie Petrie.

We also played at Rhyl’s home ground during our first season when we took on Llanelwy in a Junior Cup tie in October 2019. On that occasion, we won 3-1 thanks to goals from Dylan Williams, Luke Steele, and Benn Lundstram.

Rhyl have been in excellent form this season, winning all five of their league games so far. Most recently, they enjoyed a 3-2 win away to Saltney Town thanks to goals from Kieran Ellis, Jack Higgins, and Jonathan Taylor. Rhyl’s only defeat so far this term came at home to tier 2 side Ruthin Town in the Welsh Cup earlier this month.

Saturday’s match is an eagerly awaited fixture to which fans of both sides have been looking forward for quite some time. Please make the trip along the coast to cheer on our team if you can.

Rhyl’s Belle Vue Stadium is located on Grange Road and the postcode is LL18 4BY. Detailed directions and information about parking is available on their club website: https://www.rhylfc.co.uk/contactus.aspx.

Following our trip to Rhyl this Saturday, our next fixture will be away to Meliden in the FAW Trophy on Saturday 29 October in a game that kicks off at 2pm.
