League season begins at home

We begin our first ever season in tier 3 this Saturday (6 August) when we welcome Rhydymwyn to Treborth for a game that kicks off at 2.30pm.

Within the last few decades, Rhydymwyn have spent several seasons at tier 2 and indeed won the Cymru Alliance back in 1997-98 but were not promoted to the top flight. They were Cymru Alliance runners-up the following season. In addition, they were twice Welsh Alliance (tier 3) champions (1994-95, 2009-10).

Rhydymwyn’s season started last weekend with a home defeat against North East Wales tier 3 side Rhos Aelwyd in the Welsh Cup. Rhydymwyn’s pre-season games included home wins against West Kirby and Mersey Athletic, as well as draws with Llaneffydd and St. Asaph, and a defeat against Penycae.

We look forward to welcoming players, officials and fans of Rhydymwyn to Treborth for this Saturday’s game. It was great to have a good crowd for our recent Welsh Cup game against Llanberis and it would be great to see the same again as we kick-off our league season.
