Eagerly anticipated Welsh Cup derby

This Saturday (10 July, 2pm), we host Menai Bridge TIgers in the first qualifying round of the Welsh Cup.

This eagerly anticipated local derby will be the first time that we have played our neighbours on this side of the Menai Strait, and indeed Tigers are this season also playing their home matches at Treborth.

In our debut season, we played away to Menai Bridge Tigers in a keenly contested cup tie in the Bob Owen Memorial Shield. The hosts took the lead wtih a goal from full-back Dale Owens before Cian Williams equalized and Dylan Summers-Jones gave us a half-time lead. In the second half, two goals from Les Davies and one from Jamie Petrie clinched a 5-1 victory during which we scored our 150th goal of the season. You can read the match report from this game here and watch the goals here.

On Monday evening, Menai Bridge Tigers got their league campaign underway with a 5-0 win away to Gwalchmai. Callum Davidson scored a hat-trick and his fellow striker Dean Redmond scored twice.

Please remember that this Saturday's match kicks off at the earlier than normal time of 2pm. The FAW's current Covid-19 regulations apply and can be found here. In particular, please make sure that you wear a face covering and observe social distancing. On arrival at the ground, you will be required to have temperature check and complete a medical questionnaire.

As has been the case for several recent home matches, it will be possible to pay at the gate. Entry prices will be £4 for adults and £2 for children and senior citizens and we would ask that spectators make contactless payments if possible. Please note that as this match is in the Welsh Cup, it is not one of the games to which season ticket holders automatically gain entry. This means that season ticket holders will need to pay at the gate along with non-season ticket holders.

We've received great support so far this season since the return of fans has become possible, so please turn out to cheer on our team in the Welsh Cup!
