Bangor 1876 fans encouraged to support Bangor Cathedral Foodbank

Christmas is often referred to as the season of goodwill and we would like to encourage fans attending our Gwynedd League match at home to Llanystumdwy on 21 December to make a donation to our collection for the Bangor Cathedral Foodbank. A list of items the Foodbank is collecting is included at the end of this article.

We plan to have Foodbank collections at all remaining home games this season, and hope that this will make a difference to people in the local community. Our captain Michael Johnston suggested this idea, and has encouraged his teammates and Bangor 1876 supporters to support this initiative.

Johnston has said that it is "really unfortunate that there are people who depend on foodbanks, and this collection provides a way that we can support people in the local area". He added that "making a donation to a foodbank is a small ask for many of us, but it's something that could go a long way for people who are struggling".

Bangor 1876 may be a very young football team, but we have already received lots of support from the local community during our debut season. Via activities such as regular foodbank collections, we hope to be able to give something back. All donations will help to make a difference, no matter how big or small, so please give what you can.
