Bangor 1876 and Nantporth

Following Friday night’s social gathering and question and answer session, there has been a lot of social media attention focused on the working relationship between Bangor 1876 and Nantporth CIC.

In particular, the match rental fee for first team games has generated a lot of interest. As was said on Friday, the signed agreement 1876 has with Nantporth CIC to play at the stadium next season does not include a definitive figure, although a fee of £400 has been mentioned. This is a significant increase on the £180 paid currently, and is based on an assessment of maintaining the grass pitch over the course of a season.

For the 2023-24 season, our second largest sponsorship deal came from City Energy, via Nantporth CIC. This allowed us to cover the costs of playing at the stadium, and we are extremely grateful to have received this substantial amount.

It was also mentioned on Friday that we are in discussions with Nantporth CIC about our future working relationship. To maintain our Tier 2 status, and to support our Tier 1 aspirations, the club need the facilities offered by Nantporth.

Consequently, we are in discussions with the CIC about working more closely together to gain a greater understanding of each of our financial pressures, to plan for the future to ensure that the stadium is compliant with FAW regulations, and to work towards a sustainable, long-term plan that secures football in the city.
