Paintings by Pete Jones on display at Storiel

Our first ever Bangor 1876 associate artist Pete Jones is the subject of a new exhibition in the Storiel art gallery. Fans of our club are in for a treat as several of the works have a football connection, as Pete recently explained:

“The painting "10 Lives" references the street game that we used to play against any wall. For me it was mostly against the wall of the "Maisionettes" in Foundry Street. There is an interpretation of "Beach Road" (The original Theatre of Dreams). This is where we spent hours on end kicking a ball and trying to get a game with the older lads. A film made for the exhibition features an image of my first football heroes, The Bangor Dynamos.”

The picture mentioned above is part of the Y Bae / The Bay exhibition of Pete Jones’s painting, which Storiel is hosting from 9 October to 31 December. Storiel is located on Ffordd Gwynedd in Bangor, and the postcode in LL57 1DT. The museum is open from 11am to 5pm from Tuesday to Saturday and admission is free.
