May football fundraiser in Bangor

Current and past players from Bagnor 1876 will be among those taking part in this year’s Lily Foundation charity football match. It will take place at Nantporth on Sunday 28 May and kick off at 1pm. It is being organised by 1876 fan Paul Templer who recently talked about how he is very much looking forward to the event:

“Hopefully we can build on the success of previous years especially last year which featured players who have played for Bangor bringing a new audience to The Lily Foundation and the work that the charity does”

The Lily Foundation is a charity dedicated to fighting mitochondrial disease, providing support to those affected by it and their families as well as seeking to raise funds and awareness.

The two teams taking part will feature local players who have played at a variety of levels, many of whom will be familiar to local football fans. They will include current Bangor 1876 player Dylan Williams, who is an ever-present in the Lily Foundation charity matches that have taken place in Bangor. He will be joined by his brother Dion, who featured as a substitute for Bangor 1876 in our first ever game away to FC United. Our former defender Matthew Lock, who is currently with Menai Bridge Tigers, will also be taking part.

In addition to the match itself, there will be fun family activities taking place. These will include face painting and a magician will also be appearing. More will be announced shortly. There will also be a burger van selling refreshments.

Please support this charitable event if you can.
