John Dexter-Jones is lead singer of Jump

As well as being a passionate Bangor 1876 fan, John Dexter-Jones is also lead singer in the bad Jump. His group recently released their fourteenth album, entitled Breaking Point. It has been well reviewed both here in the UK and abroad.

The progressive rock outfit have described Breaking Point as 'featuring familiar narratives so strongly associated with Jump's previous work'. They have said that the album is 'set in a context defined by the tragedy of, and fallout from, a faraway conflict'.

Although 1876 fan John now lives in Buckinghamshire, he travelled back to North Wales many times during our debut season to watch our team home and away. He has told us that his Bangor roots have been a big part of his musical endeavours:

"I'm from Bangor and I'm a massive Bangor Fan. I started my career in a band in Bangor, then after learning my craft moved south to join Jump in 1990. My first gig in Bangor was upstairs at The Glanrafon. The opening track of the new album is a look back at starting out as a musician and all the dreams we had. It references the old school hall in Friars (long gone) where Iori the caretaker let us practice."

More information about Jump's new album and how to purchase it is available on their official website: http://www.jumprock.co.uk/.
